Wisdom - Proverbs 16:16-17

S.  How much better to get wisdom than gold,
and good judgment than silver!
17 The path of the virtuous leads away from evil;
whoever follows that path is safe.



O. It is better to have wisdom and good judgement than riches. The path of the virtuous leads you from evil. If you follow the virtuous path you are safe. 

A. I will seek wisdom and good judgement rather than wealth. 



P. Lord please help me to daily seek your wisdom and seek wise council rather than to seek riches. Thank you for supplying all my needs. Amen

S.O.A.P. June 3. - Proverbs 16:19-20

S. Better to live humbly with the poor
    than to share plunder with the proud. Those who listen to instruction will prosper;
    those who trust the LORD will be joyful.

Proverbs 16: 19-20


O. It is better to live a humble life than to splurge and waste your money. If you listen to council you will prosper and if you trust the Lord you will be joyful.


A. Don't waste your money. Listen to wise council and trust the Lord.


P. Lord help me to be wise with my finances, to listen to those around me who are wise and have good advice to give and to always trust you. Amen.

Proverbs 12:15-17


S: Proverbs 12:15-17
but the wise listen to others.16 A fool is quick-tempered,
but a wise person stays calm when insulted.

a false witness tells lies.

15 Fools think their own way is right,


O: If you think you are always right you are foolish as wise people listen to advice. Being quick tempered and not thinking through things is foolish as it is better to remain calm. Always tell the truth.


A: Don't always think you know it all as you don't. Stay teachable, willing to learn. Even if it doesn't seem like it's in your best interests - tell the truth. 


P: Lord help me to not be quick tempered, foolish and not willing to take advice, and to always tell the truth. Thank you Lord for giving me this insight. Amen.

Proverbs 12:1

S. Proverbs 12:1 To learn, you must love discipline;

It is stupid to hate correction.

O. Discipline and correction are needed to help you learn from the mistakes you have made. And if you are not corrected or disciplined for the mistakes that you have made than you will not know that what you have done is wrong.

A. I will not hate when I am corrected for something that I have done incorrectly. Instead I will encourage it, so that I can learn from it.

P. Dear Lord please help me to accept when I am corrected. Amen

Proverbs 12:2

S. Proverbs 12:2 The LORD approves of those who are good, But he condemns those who plan wickedness.

O. The lord likes people who do good and do the right thing. But dislikes those who do wicked things.

A. I will only do things the Lord approves of and not what he doesn’t.

P. Dear Lord please help me to do things that you approve of and not what you don’t. Amen

Proverbs 12:8

S. Proverbs 12:8 A sensible person wins admiration,

but a warped mind is despised.

O. Someone who is sensible wins the admiration of people. But someone with a warped mind is despised by many.

A. I will always use common sense.

P. Dear Lord please help me to always use good judgement. Amen

Psalm 66:1,2

S. Psalm 66:1,2 Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! Sing about the glory of his name!

Tell the world how glorious he is.

O. People all over earth sing about the glory of God.

A. I will sing songs that praise the Lord.

P. Dear Lord Help me to sing better. Amen

Proverbs 12:10

S. Proverbs 12:10 The godly care for their animals,

but the wicked are always cruel.

O. The godly will care their animals, while the wicked are cruel to them.

A. I will always be kind to animals

P. Dear Lord please help the cats

in my neighborhood to get good homes. Amen

Proverbs 12:5,6

S. Proverbs 12:5,6 The plans of the godly are just;

the advice of the wicked is treacherous. The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives.

O. The godly only give advice that is helpful. But the wicked will only give advice that is treacherous.

A. I will only give advice that will help people.

P. Dear Lord please help me to give people good advice. Amen

Welcome to my new blog. I am excited to take this journey through God's word. In our church, I am learning to SOAP through God's Word. It is has been fun so far. As part of my Go Missions Equipping, I am required to SOAP six days and serve others, not to mention learn my memory verse, pray with my prayer partner and honor my parents.

Proverbs 11:5

S. Proverbs 11:5 The godly are directed by honestly, the wicked fall benethen their load of sin.
O. Christians are directed by honestly and stay away from wicked things. But people who continually sin are soon buried by the wrong things they do.
A. I will try to stay away from things that are wicked and I not be like the people who sin continually.
P. Dear Lord help me not to be consumed by sin and help people with the talents you gave me amen

Proverbs 11:14

S. Proverbs 11:14 Without wise leadership, a nation falls;
There is safety in having many advisers.
O.  My thought on this verse is like my school, if I don’t know how to figure something out I would talk to my
advisers/teachers and they would help with anything I need help with.
A. I will ask for help when I need it.
P. Dear Lord please help to ask for help when I need it and not to worry about it because I have a lot of great teachers who are there to help me succeed Amen.
S. Proverbs 11:28 Trust in your money and down you go!
But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.
O. People who trust in money will lose it, but people who put their trust in God will do very well in life.
A. I will not put my trust in money, but I will put my trust in the Lord.
P. Dear Lord please help me not to rely on money and to put my trust in you. Amen.

Proverbs 11:24

S. Proverbs 11:24 Give freely and become more wealthy;
be stingy and lose everything.
O. If you are willing to give your things to other people you will be more wealthy in heaven. But if you don’t what to give away your earthy possessions you will lose them all.
A. I will give my things to people who are really in need and not be stingy.
P. Please help me to be willing to give to the less fortunate. Amen

Proverbs 11:23

S. Proverbs 11:23 The godly can look forward to a reward,
while the wicked can expect only judgment.
O. Christians can look forward to a reward for the good they do, while the wicked people can only look forward to judgement for the wrong things they did.
A. I will do the right thing and I will not do things that are wicked.
P. Dear Lord please help me to only do the right thing and never the wrong. Amen

Proverbs 11:21

S. Proverbs 11:21 Evil people will surely be punished,
but the children of the godly will go free.
O. People who do wrong will be punished for the wrong things that they did, But Christians will not be punished.
A. I will not do wrong things and I will be like the children of the godly.
P. Dear Lord please help me to not be like the evil people and help me to be like the children of the godly. Amen

Proverbs 11:18

S. Proverbs 11:18 Evil people get rich for the moment,
but the reward of the godly will last.
O. what this verse means to me is that evil people will only be rich for the here and now, But the reward of a Christian will last for eternity.
A. I will not want to get rich for the moment, but to have a reward eternally in heaven.
P. Lord help me to realize that my true riches are in you and in your kingdom. Thank you Jesus for helping me focus on heavenly riches more than earthly. I love you Lord, Amen.

Psalms 62:1-2

S: Psalms 62: 1-2 "I wait quietly before God,
For my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My fortress where I will never be shaken."
O. I will wait quietly before the Lord for whatever answers I need. I will put my trust and hope in Him.
A. As long as I keep my eyes on Jesus and remember my Victory over life's storms comes only from Him. I can face any trial that comes my way. God is my rock and salvation.
P: Lord, help me to continue to place my trust and faith in you. You are alone are the fortress and my rock in the storms of life. Life isn't easy but with you I can get through anything. Please remind me to keep my heart focused on your Word and hold to your truths. Amen
